Monash University continues to educate it's students by performing classroom dissections on living rabbits. On the 18 March 2008 Animal Liberation Victoria occupied the physiology building to stage a protest against this barbaric and completely unnecessary practice. • Did you know that the biggest cause of heart attacks is eating meat?

  • You speak of "rights"? What about the poor security guard who wont be able to hear his wife for the next week? INNOCENT.

  • when they say 'cutting edge research', I had no idea they meant that literally...maybe they should start carving up live cats, dogs, and eventually take on the homeless, the gangsters, the drug users and pushers...God knows there are experimental subjects out there galore... why not the science teachers have some courage and put themselves on the line, the cutting edge, if they really believe what they do saves lives...

  • this was absolutely barbaric...can't believe a university will condone this rubbish. i thought there were laws against using live animals for tests. certainly, illegal to sell live fish at the market or half-alive turtles, etc. animal cruelty is outlawed for everyone else, why are quasi-scientific experiments immune... this video just makes me sick. monash should be absolutely horrified at what passes for science on their campus. the VC should resign.

  • @yumyumintumtum Seriously though there are other methods to study animals without having to go through this. Slaughter houses are different, why? because then you are talking about people's freedom to choose what they should eat therefore you are getting human rights in it, which would take longer and cost more. They are already protesting against that though mind you, but it's an ongoing thing.

  • Okay that's one university I ain't going to! lol.

  • Mr Wahhhbit

  • I'm impressed with how civil the campus security is on the whole with the protesters.

  • @HorseBunny2606 wow so clueless. these rabbits are obviously anesthetized beforehand cuz u dont see them wriggling around or struggling do u?

on another note, i dont know why these people arent at farms/slaughterhouses protesting. they breed and kill animals on a much larger scale. these are just bored people who have nothing better to do with their lives than seek attention/publicity.

  • Get a life!

Go protest against the killing of Palestinians instead of protesting against the killing of animals!

  • Good work monash university - you guys are at the forefront of medical research in Australia! Relenza FTW!

Guess what, i bet those dumb azz bitches use make-up to coat their faces, antibiotics when they are sick, oral contraceptives to prevent pregnancies to their hippy, bandana-clad boyfriends - those were all tested and tried on animal subjects!

If they really wanted to promote a good cause, they'd be raising awarness of the atrocious nazi medical experiments that were performed on humans!
