Rękawka is a festival held annually in Kraków, Poland, always after Easter. You can see how life looked like in early Middle Ages, even before Christianity appeared. A lot of fun, including pagan rituals and a mock battle.

  • Looks like good wholesome fun for the whole family, like the Renaissance fairs we got in America. But do they actually call it a Pagan festival in Poland? Try that in America and the christian fundamentalists would scream bloody murder!

  • Well, actually, the official name is Rękawka Holiday. The word pagan isn`t used, but all invitations to the festival stress the fact it is founded in ancient prechristian times.
