Playing around on the Korg EMX-1. This is just a single synth part using the Waveform setting with pitch modulation and delay effects.

nice!! i've been thinking about Getting an electribe to do this sort of thing as a background/textural sound to thicken up, and help portray the feel to my songs, is the electribe good for this kind of task?

Yes, it's great for this sort of thing. There are a couple of constraints though. First, you must run the sequencer to get sound out of it. So to do a drone, you will have to base it on a triggered event. As you can see, a lot of delay will blend things enough. Second, it's not so hot for programming gates and notes. Each stage requires submenu navigation, one for stage, one for gate. You can though, use record, and get notes and gates programmed on the fly. All in all, a great little machine.

I had gotten tired of all the dance demos everyone's doing for this machine. Looking at your other videos, I can see why you treat this machine as a synth instead of just a groovemachine. Great drone too! Would fit right in on a Sunn 0))) project. Keep up the good work.

One question, How are you re-triggering the synth part over and over again? I see the sequencer isnt on!

Hi thanks. The keyboard button is selected so the sequencer section is displaying a synth part keyboard. What do you mean "actual song?" ;)

Oh okay..I see, you have the KBD button activated, so you cant see the step keys doing the re-triggering. By all means this tune is cool as is, but I meant it would be really wicked if you could turn it into a song with drums, drops, and changeups etc...
