@0:10 Ingraham: What happened to your guy last night? What up?!

Watts: Well, he didn't have the type of performance that he had a couple weeks ago, or about a week ago, in South Carolina. But, I think he stood his own. At the end of the day, Laura, this is going to boil down to, in my opinion, ground game. I think Newt established himself in South Carolina. But I think the ground thing here on out is going to determine how things turn out on Election Day. We feel pretty good about the ground game here in Florida. We're out numbered on the air—three to one. But, I think that people are going to peel the onion, because the mood of politics today. The gentleman that you just spoke to from Alabama summed it up pretty well. I think people are going to peel the onion, and say forget about all the silliness, all the silly season stuff and let's look at what these people did when they had a voice, when they had a vote, when they could influence government.

On the attacks on Gingrich coming from Conservatives:

@5:28 Ingraham: Is Ann Coulter wrong? Is Matt Drudge wrong, well he is just posting links. All of these people, Elliot Abrams, and Tom DeLay and Bob Tyrrell of the American Spectator. Are all of them wrong?

Watts: Well, Laura think about this. Ann Coulter, I think she called Mike Huckabee a stupid Christian, a dumb Christian or something to that effect. I mean Newt Gingrich- Tom DeLay there was no secret that DeLay was part of a half-cocked coup back in 1996 or 1997. In politics you make enemies...you know he ticked off Republicans as well and so in this business don't think that; one would be very naïve to think that just because people wear the same color jersey as you that they like you or they're on your team.

@7:23 Ingraham: Do you think a lot of this is personal? You don't think any of this is based is practical thinking about who is most electable?

Watts: Well, Laura, even the electability argument. You and I in March of 2008, how many people listening to this show would have said that a liberal Democrat junior Senator from Chicago would beat Hillary and Bill Clinton in a primary and a war hero and a general to become leader of the free world? This is that conventional wisdom crowd that says "I know what's best for the American people. Laura, I know how you should vote, you need to take my advice." I just think there is a mood, there is an atmosphere out there that's been created over the last three years that says the conventional wisdom crowd, they're not going to make a decision for us. That's where the battle is going to be won.
