This is a piece of music that tells the story of all men and women whose lives came to an end in Dardanelles during World War I. They were once the sons, the husbands, the brothers, the friends, the lovers to millions of others from all corners of the world. It is a sonata for solo violin in tree movements.
The first movement pictures the prior to war unrest; a chaotic time that makes everyone despair yet courageous, because the war is inescapable.
The second movement depicts a peaceful moment between gruesome clashes; a soldier completely devastated by death, wrath and hopelessness in the battlefield remembers how he farewell to his mother on his way to fight the enemy in Dardanelles.
The third movement presents a picture of the cruel realities of war: clashes that seem to never end. Orders are given to men to die, for what? What brought those men and women to that spot? Didnt people read the story of Troy? Havent they learned their lesson yet?
Composed by Deniz Tahberer
It is performed on a violin by Hermann Janzen.

I hear the influence of Bartok, even little Stravinsky.
