Dot and the Kangaroo Part One

Wow did I watch the heck out of this when I was a kid. Although now I can't stop thinking of how much Dot looks like Lois from Family Guy.

The backgrounds freak me out so much when I watch this now. It's incredibly eerie with the naive and, to be blunt, poor animation over those scary images of the Australian landscape and creepy animal noises. I used to watch it all the time when I was younger, but my VHS tape had the beginning missing so I don't recall ANY of this part. I don't know many people who've even heard of it.

i watched this over and over again as a kid, it was one of my favourite movies. It was good animtion for its day. It is a movie that plays on your mind, hence why some twenty five years later i have looked it up,

I remember watching this I think on Nickelodeon.....? Even then I realized how cheap the animation was (how they kept reusing the same animation loops over and over again, just with different backgrounds)

I remember watching this on either BBC1 or Children's ITV back in the 80s. However, as I recall it was a series, not a full movie (as I now understand it to be). Was it a movie which was 'cut up' and shown as a serial?
