@nicker3290 5.45 surplus is like $100 cheaper per thousand on several sites.

20" A3 Barrel Assembly w/ chrome (same as whole upper, right?) plus parts kit lower and all Magpul furnature and sights? Thoughts? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to get some good insight on first build.

honestly I have never built my own AR and I'm definitely not an AR expert. Look up gunskniveswatches or chanderson1 on youtube and PM them. Both of them are really knowlegeable about ARs and could probably give you some advice on your build

@nicker3290 Thanks alot. A complete AR is still an option, but it just seems like I can save alot building what I can.. Plus eventually a .22 or 5.45 upper for plinking and 6.8 for hunting would be awesome regardless.

a 5.45 wouldn't be any better for plinking than a 5.56/.223 is. They make cheap steel case ammo in .223/5.56. I just don't shoot that stuff because dirty ammo doesn't run well in an AR (unless you buy a piston driven gun). Buying a different upper wont solve that problem.

great video man. i subbed because of it too. i am 18 a bit fresh to firearms too. not sure what separates a cheap AR from a quality but fairly priced AR so this helped a bunch. the gun shop near my house is selling a S&W M&P15 MOE for around 1100$ is that a pretty good price?

@gregos350
