1950s era commercial for Kellogg's Sugar Frosted Flakes serial featuring ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN star George Reeves touting the merits of sugar-sweetened. It was a common practice on both radio and in television's early days to have at least one "cast" commercial, wherein the stars of the program would personally tout the merits of the sponsor's product. However, DC comic specifically excluded the "Superman" character from these commercials, leaving the pitching and promoting to "Clark Kent", "Jimmy Olsen", "Lois Lane" and "Perry White". It was a minor technicality as "Kent" often used x-ray vision and super-hearing in the course of the commercials. We of the short pants set know only Superman could do that.
