(TAB & score on my site) Here's a look at Pino Palladino's Main Riff and a couple of his nice fills on the D'angelo track 'Brown Sugar', from a live set in Stockholm.

  • Yeah :) you did a very good job!

This version of Brown Sugar is one of my fav tracks from this dope bootleg (with Devil's Pie, Lady, Shit,Damn,Motherfucker, Left&Right...)

Do you know that the main verse riff comes from Minnie Riperton's Baby, this love I have which had been sampled by A Tribe Called Quest on Check the rhime?

  • @Fjord76 cheers Fjord. Yeah - I've got 'low end theory' the ATCQ album.. - awesome!

  • you ever seen Pino play? Seen him with Paul Young playing Liverpool Empire about 1984

  • hey soundation, yeah - been to see the Jeremy Stacey band a few times at the 606 club in London with Pino and Jason Rebello. I'd have been a baby in 1984! - was it a good gig? Fretless?

  • @WorshipBassist It's under 'Music' and then look at the R&B section :)

  • I can't find it on your sight and there is no search bar?

  • Sick job man! Really nice tone! There's a lot to be learned from pino.

That's not a Fodera I see back there is it?

  • isn't that a bass riff from a Minnie Ripperton track?
