I keep coming back to this version.
This must have taken days to rehearse to such perfection from the conductor's masterful control, through the orchestra's brlliant feel, all the way to the recording crew, this would make Elgar proud.
Makes ME proud, and I'm not even English.

a brilliant piece of music-makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up- hearing this at the Cenotaph is a VERY emotional experience

Nice indeed, Brad.

Wonderful, such a wistful and melancholic piece of music and so well presented. It reminds me of a historical period marking the beginning of the end of European culture just prior to WW1.

It's the previous variation (no. 8). Nimrod is from a longer piece called the Enigma Variations.

This just goes to show the high quality of American orchestras, even those not well known. The tone and depth are very impressive. The Americans are leading the way in classical music. I wish my country(Canada) would follow this example.

Actually, I'm Canadian too... I conduct a full-time orch in the US. Thanks for the comment. Brad
