I took this after I installed a full 3" exhaust on my Subaru. This is a 3" straight through muffler with two resonators. I am no film editing expert, and the purpose of the video is to show the exhaust sound in different situations.

Relevant mods include EJ257 shortblock with WRX heads, DOM3 turbo, EWG plumbed back into the downpipe, and WRX exhaust manifold.

  • What blow-off valve is used?

  • @anothernord No blow off valve. A blow off valve on a Subie slows it down because it blows off metered air, causing the car to run rich (adding fuel for the blown off air). Instead, it is using a TXS Racing Bypass Valve Type H34 (Full recirc). The idea is that instead of blowing off the metered air, it recirculates it back into the intake being that it is already metered.

  • did you do a swap on it?????i have the same car it's a 2.5 gt but non turbo i was wondering does some of it come turbo or did you do a swap????

  • The car has an EJ257 with WRX heads and a DOM3 turbo. Putting out 355hp at the wheels or about 470 at the crank.

  • Wow that is really nice. I have a 98 legacy. Did you have it lowered? If so how much did it cost?

  • It is lowered. I put on completely different suspension: KYB AGX struts and Tanabe GF210 springs. This car also has the STI Drivetrain and transmission, so I have all STI width sway bars also.

  • @atomicrider4 You are wrong, any Subaru engine has the same issue with blowing off metered air, all these engines work the same. Also, engine management has nothing to do with this. A blow off valve blows off metered air that the em thinks is still in the system, causing the computer to inject fuel for that air that was blown off. This will cause the engine to run rich right after that air was released from the system. If you are looking for the best running system, leave the bov to the Hondas

  • car has a great sound. i recognize that stretch of hwy 16.
