  • Knee strikes are far more effective if you grab the opponent and use that leverage to pull him into the knees. Practicing a technique a million times will not make it second nature if it involves an ambush/panic attack. The brain does not function like that. The reactive part of the brain will ALWAYS override the cognitive part of the brain, providing a FLINCH. The kinetic energy from the flinch can then be turned into a tactical counter which might be the knees or elbows.

    This is a simple introduction system to self defense, My background is 32 years of martial arts including muay thai, bjj, mma and professional sport karate with a #4 world ranking when i competed . There is never a sure fire method for self defense all you can do is train and prevent most situations from occurring. I would be very curious to see what you teach and your martial arts background
