Ambassador Jeffrey Davidow, president of the Institute of the Americas, said during a televised interview with Miami Herald columnist Andres Oppenheimer that information revealed by WikiLeaks "damages the United States and the capacity of the United States to maintain a strong and active diplomacy." However, Davidow said, "the crime -- if there was a crime -- was not committed by WikiLeaks but by someone who worked for the United States government who had the responsibility of maintaining the confidentiality of his job."
