nice use of side control to knee-ride then to the step over armbar..I'm often in this position but now I don't have to wait for my opponent to push on my knee to try to swim my hand through to hook his shoulder,I can do the set-up on the arm from side control by securing onto my own collar before I pop-up for the knee-ride..classes and mat time are the best no doubt but it's also great to have the tube, it helps to expand my thoughts to further options without having to wait to be shown..sweet!

@Submissions101 It's not Brazilian accent... it is Octavio's accent...

@omuleanu make sure his thumb is up, legs down, hips up
-
i used to have the same problemb when doin it from mount. u gota make sure ure as close to him as humanly possible and make sure his thumb is pointing up too.

The key to the armlock is proper leverage, your butt should be as close to their shoulder as possible, also try holding their wrist instead of lower on their arm, this increases the distance to the fulcrum (elbow) and allows you to generate a larger force moment, its pure newtonian physics
-
@omuleanu make sure you pinch ur knees togther and that the foot over the head is as close too your butt ass posible becasue that is what allow u to lift ur hips up high for the break or tap.
-
make sure his elbow is slightly past or on ur hips make it the fulcrum and the rest of the arm the lever
-
try getting your butt as near to the guys body as possible. this increases the pressure on his arm when you raise your hips,

These positions are very common in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy over here in Brazil, where I train. The basics are the best! :)
