"I have to be back in Boston by 6 tonight. I'm having dinner with someone." Juliet said.
"Oh who?" I smiled, anxious to know.
"This guy I met in Starbucks. In Starbucks! Can you believe it?!" She exclaimed, as we bought frappuchinos in a Starbucks.
"What was he doing? Just grabbing a coffee, working, or reading?" I drank some of my Vanilla Bean.
"He was reading. A Shakespeare play! I thought that was a sign!" She sipped some Strawberries & Creme.
"It definately is, Juliet. He's your Romeo. I must meet him sometime." We walked outside. It was already 3 o'clock.
"Well, I better get going. You know your way around this city right?" She asked while calling a taxi.
"Yes, I've been here lots of times, don't worry. Go have fun on your date." I told her while she was getting in the taxi.
"What are you going to do?" She sat in the car.
"I'm probably going to tour for a little while, then head back to the hotel and order some pizza. Nothing too big." I shrugged.
"Alright. I'll see you later! You have to come back home!" She said then slammed the door shut.
"I definately will!" She's starting to sound like my parents...
I breathed into my hands to warm them up while walking around Rockefellar Plaza. Looking at the area where the Christmas tree used to be. After touring the city for about two hours, I was exhausted so there was a nice looking bench very close by and I decided to pop a squat there. I heard my phone ring from a text as soon as I sat down.
I pulled the phone out of my pocket, and I wasn't shocked that Joe was calling. I wanted to hate the name, I wanted be able to ignore him easily, I really wanted to be done with him, but apparently my heart won't let me.
"Hello?" I succumbed to my racing heart.
"Rae, where in the world are you?" He sounded somewhat worried.
"Joe, I don't want you to know." I almost told him about the 'fate' thing Juliet told me.
"Why is it so freakin' loud?! I can barely hear you!" He said.
"Um, it's...bad service..." I am such a terrible liar.
"You are such a terrible liar. I can hear cars and people. Just tell me where you are."
"I-I can't." I whispered into the phone, knowing he wouldn't be able to hear.
"Yes you can. Why do you think you can't?" He actually heard that whisper.
"Because to move on, I need to not be around you." I told him.
"I don't want you to move on. I want you to be with me. I'll find you if you don't tell me. You know I can." He said, a little bit more angry now.
"Joe, if you really can find me, then it's fate and we're meant to be together. But if you can't find me in less than a week, I don't want you to talk to me again." I said sternly.
"This is like a hide'n'seek game. Can we make this two weeks? Please?" He asked, politely.
"Fine. If you can't or choose not to find me in two weeks, I never want to hear from you again."
"I will and I choose to find you because I love you. We are meant for each other and nothing will stop that." He said powerfully, it made me want to cry because he was so emotional about it.
"Bye." I whispered.
"Love you." He whispered back.
I hung up and just sat on that bench until the sun started to set in the west.
"Will he really find me? Are we really meant to be together? What will I say when I see him?"
These are the questions that were racing through my head throughout the night while I watched the TV in my hotel room.
Should I be nice to him since he went through all that work to be with me or should I be a bitch and walk away?
Will I be putty in his hands or thin air he can't grasp that gets away?
Should I tell him I love him so much or just tell him I'll give it a try one more time?
Too many ways this could go if he actually shows and too many options to consider.
My phone buzzed on the side table next to me.
I had received a text from Joe.
"I'm on your trail. I have a slight idea where you are." He texted.
"Oh and where's that?" I answered back, knowing I shouldn't have.
A few more thoughts skipped through my head until the next text came.
"I won't tell. I want it to be a surprise once I find you. Which will be really soon, don't worry, love."
I didn't quite know what to say to that. "You better make it quick or you'll have to find a new 'love'."
Was that too bitchy? I didn't want to be that mean to him.
"I won't have to, because I'm going to find you within three days. Not even that. I promise you."
"Good luck." I wished him.
He replied with the one word text of "Thanks:)".

Ah!
I'm on the phone with Stevie and she is totally appalled by my amount of gasping and squealing. I loved it! Joe. Ah. That's too cute. :)
