Starts a bit slow, but picks up toward the end.
One of my favorite Crosby tunes, more so because he is joined by his Son Gary. No matter how he is perceived.. to me, he will always be "Uncle Bing"

  • Thanks for introducing me to this version of Sam's Song. And great job with the images accompanying the music.

  • I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Three minutes doesn't seem like a long time...until your building a video! Heh! I can't believe there was a Bing Crosby coffee maker! Thank you for the comment!

  • amazing song

it reminds me of ma grandad who pasted away he played it in the car :)

  • Thanks! I enjoyed putting it together. My parents were big fans of Der Bingle!

  • what a great song :)

and i'm not just sayin that because my name is sam.

  • Actually, when I started to make the vid, it was with my friend Sam in mind! The video had a mind of it's own though. Now, it's all about the Bing! LoL

  • Despite Bing and Gary's conflicts over the years, this is the way I like to remember both of them.

  • I'm in love with a man named Sam :) :) :) It's a little silly how much this song made me smile. LOVE IT!!!

  • This song was played at my Granddad's cremation. He chose this song after me, because my name is Sam. In 5 days time, he would've turned 86 as well. R.I.P Granddad.

  • @tombee2 LOL ! No it sure doesn't! I got a kick out of the "and Friend" bit though! =)

  • I became a Bing Crosby at age 13, during the Elvis era, because we had his musical autobiography (famous songs) on 45 rpm. This was one of the songs. He had a couple of songs with Gary that he brought out. I also liked the Frank Sinatra-Sammy Davis Jr. recording, particularly with Sammy's adlibs.

  • I've always liked the name, Sam. Nice montage of pics to go with the song.

  • This song was played at the opening to my grandad's funeral; it's so emotional more me. Great tune, great lyrics - keep it up! :)

  • Recorded on June 23, 1950, and initially released on Decca 27112 as "Gary Crosby & Friend", accompanied by Matty Matlock's All-Stars.

  • they call it sams song<3333

  • This is a fantastic melody!
