@TheTravisWilloughby hey, the actor always arrives overdone! :) okay, i guess the everyday occurence thing could be funny, I see your point. I just think that it's funnier when you overdo it, because then it's almost like their trying to sell this song a little seriously, and for the most part it's such an unserious song, ya know? Also, I don't think sweeney could be this calm...if the movie is like the show, this is the first song right after epiphany. He's just about cracked by now.

It just seems... overdone. :D I like this version because they're acting like eating people pies is just an everyday occurence. " 'What's this' you say? boooooo.....how dare you sing A Little Priest and not ham it up! Did they let the actors see a good production of this show before they did the movie? This is perhaps the hammiest song Sondheim's ever written. THEY ARE PUNNING ABOUT EATING PEOPLE. Go watch George Hearn and Patti Lupone. See how this shit was meant to be sung.
