In Australia, a large bush fire is burning out of control in Karnup, south of Perth. It comes as temperatures reached more than 96 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday and strong winds fanned the flames.
The fire has already burned about one square mile, according to Australian media, and is believed to have been deliberately lit.
Authorities issued warnings for the residents of towns around Karnup as water bombers were deployed to control the blazes.
The strong winds are making it difficult for firefighters to control the fire and authorities say they are widening containment lines.
