This was a project I did in college at ASU for class. Yes, I also worked at the library, and Betty Glover (an incredibly sweet lady) was my boss. This was way before non-linear editing. It's a bit dated, but still holds up pretty well, I think.

  • It's amazing what a Google search will turn up from the archives! My sister (Betty's niece) did a Google search and found this video that none of us knew existed. It's been fun to watch to get a glimpse of where she worked for 25 yrs & the fun that she had. Great job with the video!

  • To Betty's relatives:

    Thanks and You're welcome!

I loved Betty and will always remember her! She will always be one of the most positive influences on my life.

I actually first knew her starting from when I was in the 8th grade and first visited the library and my admiration continued through the early 1990's when I was in graduate school and also teaching high school. She actually hired me back in the summers!

I will never forget this kind, humorous, generous, thoughtful, and amazing lady!

  • I was 10 at the time this was made, and I was into computers then, yet it still amazes me just how

    old fashioned those computers look.

  • I was 21 when this was made, and I also was into computers since I was 10. There had been few advances from 1976 technology and that the of computers shown here. These were just "dumb terminals" tied to a mainframe. Early GUI's were available (both Mac and Windows), but they were not used here. The COMputer CATalog (SPIN) featured microfische of mainframe printouts of collections catalogged on old mainframes.

It took html to push things to the present.

  • Thanks so much for posting!! She was my nana and I never knew this video exsisted! It's so funny, great job!

  • Thank you for posting this video! Betty Glover was my aunt (my mom's older sister) and I miss her very much! A girlfriend and I drove from Florida to Arizona in 1992 to see her and had a blast...she definitely was one of a kind!

  • I take it you were a film student? This is very, VERY well done. Funny in its own right, not even taking into account the "haha, computers used to look like that" factor.
