While hundreds of people stand on the beach, enthralled by the wild Dolphins literally at their feet, no more that a few metres behind them is a truely magnificent and equally enchanting animal. Dingo Loxie stands patiently at the end of the line, under a fluttering Australian flag, getting the occasional picture snapped by tourists that realise what she is..

Unlike the Dolphin or the Whale, there is no resort in the middle of the desert, built to showcase her achievements, no museum to demonstrate her species destruction at the hand of man. There is no Dingo Education Centre along side the Dolphin Education Centre costing millions of dollars of taxpayers monies. But the Government does spend millions on the Dingo every year. Millions of dollars devoted to their eradication.. Money on repairing an ineffective "dog fence".. Money on Toxic poisons to kill them in national parks. Money to pay pastoralist and professional "doggers' to trap shoot and scalp the Dingo for 50 bucks a head.. Millions on flights over uninhabited desert to wipe out the Dingo with aerial dropped 1080 baits at the rate of 50 per kilometre. All to enable the pet meat industry breed 100's of thousands of feral goats that turn the land to dust. Millions more spent on the education and training of all these people on how to use 'best practice' in the genocide of an already endangered Australian native species.

So Loxie will continue her daily, lonely ambasadorial role, educating the public, greeting adults and children alike with a big grin and a wagging tail, without the millions of dollars to help in her own education projects. She will patiently stand in the background, behind the Dolphins and the Whales, silently doing all she can to dispell the myths and misinformation diseminated by the same govenment that spends millions on the adorable Dolphins and Whales. Like Loxie there are other Dingoes out there in the public performing the same role. In the face of overwhelming goverment sponsored opposition, these magificent and gentle animals breakdown the public misperceptions of the Dingo one person at a time..

Hopefully one day in there future the will be a Dingo Education Centre built in the desert. There will be a museum to the Dingo and the horrific way we 'Used' to treat them. The 5000 km 'dog fence will be ripped down and cut up and sold to tourists as souveniers, who will come in their millions to get up close and see the Dingoes in the wild as they now come to watch the Dolphins at Monkey Mia and to whatch the Whales migrating along our coastlines..

One Day.......

Please don't let the Dingo be wiped out by Greed, fear and Myth like the Thylacine..

It is our duty, not just as Australians, but as members of the human race, to make a stand against this injustice..

Do something now before it is too late. The Dingo's fate is in your hands..

Contact your state Misister for the Environment or Federal minister for Environment Mr Peter Garret and voice your abhornce at the Government sponsored genocide of Australia's own LION KING

    is strickly protected??? by who??

    not the govt!!!

the dingo fence is NOT effective as my Loxie jumped it with ease...AND walked over the cattle grid on the road between the fence!!

AND!!! its DINGOES ..NOT.. DINGOS!! U BIG JERK!!!....GET THE FARM/MISSION DOGS STERILISED AND THE DINGO WON'T CROSSBREED WITH THEM!!

THE ONLY PROTECTED PURE DINGOES ARE ON FRASER ISLAND!!!....IDIOT!!

  • actually killing pure dingoes only makes the problem worse. Dingoes have their own territory which they will defend from other canines. By removing dingoes you allow the feral dogs (re domestic dogs gone wild) and dingo/feral dog hybrids to get a foothold. Dingoes will only breed once a yeaar where as domestic dogs will breed three time every two years and sometimes twice a year. This leads to vast increases in population.

  • Whether or not 5000 years constitutes "native" is irrelivent.Exluding man, when white man arrived in Australia, the dingo was the top predator and as such probably the most important link in the ecosystem chain.

Just as is starting to be seen in Yellowstone keeping the numbers of larger herbavores in check helps maintain the biodiversity of plants and aniamls. Its also becoming apparent that dingoes keep fox, cat and rabbit numbers in check, benefiting smaller endangered marsupials.

  • The problem with Australia is the Australians ( not the aboriginals), mostly of european origin, with their ignorance & hatered of wild predateurs.......having eliminated wolves from most of europe, came to Australia with the same attitude & decimated the thylacine & have been trying for a century to render the dingo extinct just to protect their mangy sheep, which disease, accidents & domestic dogs kill far more than dingos ever did, it's just an excuse to let drunken halfwits have their fun.

  • @Gaschy It's good you think the dingo shouldn't be totally removed, but anyone who thinks that the amount of livestock lost to the dingo warrants laying poison everywhere is a worse than a retard. Your comments are those of an arrogant hare-brained retard.

  • Thankyou for your vid...it's the kind of insanity Aussies in general seem to want to ignore.....dingos being exterminated because of ignorance...and it's the kind of ignorance that's cultivated rather than simply not through lack of intelligence. Yes. Crossbreeding is a problem. But claiming that's the ONLY problem is silly.

  • poisoning wildlife is wasteful and arrogant.

  • so they have sarah palin type republicans in australia too I see. poor Dingos

  • kleinen versifften husos man sollte die lieber so abschlachten

  • shit does rhat really happens in our times i tought that australians learnd their lession from Thylacine but now they are doing same with the dingos i'm a huge fan of the dingos this must be stopped at any costs.

  • Dingos kill domestic dogs, not co-habit with them. There is some crossbreeding but there is a big difference between a dingo and a wild dog. A difference most people choose to ignore.

  • Ok then explain? Because I'm sick and tired of everyone claiming that control methods such as shooting and baiting are killing the Dingo when it really isn't. The only thing that threatens the population is hybridisation so expalin please why you don't think it does?

  • Gaschy, I just might refute your claims if you promise to discuss like a mature person and not resort to childish insults in an attempt to win arguments.
