On Sunday, October 11, 2009, under police escort, Poe's "body" was transported from his 203 Amity Street home (where he lived in 1833) to the Westminster Hall. The procession was led by the Loch Raven Pipes and Drums. Poe's casket was transported in an antique horse drawn hearse.
