$2 billion in savings!= no brainer. Cuomo definately will not and Paladino probably wont either. The libertarian has my vote

OK, I went onto the NYPL site and it's official, he made $664,200 in 2008 and contributed over $101k to the employees benefits. Shocking! He worked 40 hours a week, I wonder how that breaks down.
Still, you cant run a campaign on one issue, what does this guy have to offer. I know Cuomo comes from a political family but I feel he's been a good Attorney General he's gone after Wall Street and a dedicated public servant. Paladino on the other hand is a joke and I wouldn't trust that sleaze bag.

wredlich, you go onto NYTimes site and do a search and while your at it, go onto the NYPL's site and see if you get anywhere. I found nothing. Until we change campaign finance laws, Libertarians and 3rd parties don't have a chance. That is what you should be concentrating on.

This is part and parcel of why there will soon be a major Depression and a violent Revolution. Worldwide we are returning to the days of kings and serfs. The French Revolution was brought on by this greed and corruption. They are wipping out the middleclass..."When people have nothing left to lose...they lose it.

I like how he says "libertarian" not "librarian". LOL! I've heard some sheeple make that actual mistake before.

I did several searches online, went to the NYPL site where anyone can see independently audited financial statements from 2009(it looked like Greek to me, let me know if you can make heads or tails of it) and onto the NYTimes site and I found nothing on Rufus Le Clerc's salary. I don't trust nor do I read fringe blogs. Any idiot with a computer can start a blog and type his opinion.

Just for the record, I am for capping salaries and taxing all soda, candy, snacks and junk food.

Rufus, you need to work on your research skills:

Rufus: Le Clerc's salary has been mentioned in the New York Times, and is included in the seethroughny -dot- net database.

Not a typo. The average pay of the $100K+ bureaucrats is about $120K (I ran a spreadsheet). Capping pay at $100K saves an average of $20K each, which works out to about $2B.
There were actually 110,000 bureaucrats in 2009 who made $100K or more. The 2010 number is almost certainly higher, and on top of that I know certain agencies that are not included in the database, so there are even more.
There would be additional savings from reduced pension benefits that would likely save another $1B+
