SEAFORD — Nassau County Police are searching the area infront of Charlie's Family Pharmacy where 51-year-old ATF agent John Capano was killed. Capano, a Massapequa resident was killed while picking up his father's prescription while the drug store was being robbed. A customer ran to a nearby business and alerted an off-duty New York Police officer happened to be inside. Capano was still inside the pharmacy when a struggle between the suspect and the officer ensued, and gunshots rang out. An investigation revealed that 43-year-old James McGoey of Hampton Bays was attempting to steal drugs and cash, and was killed at the scene. Capano was taken to Nassau University Medical center, where he later died. It is currently unknown who shot Capano.
