actually alot of people call it the dreadmill, wonder if a horse can think the same thing. lol. horses do love to run. he would probably prefer running in a field or on trail. but hey if all you have time for is dread I mean treadmill go for it. I have one and use it regularly during the winter months until it get warmer out.
@TheRosa63 The horses seem to enjoy it. They get to gallop without the weight of someone on their back. The mill is used mostly for thoroughbred racehorses. I would bet that a lot of the knockers weigh more than 100 kg and don’t think twice about climbing on a horses back. Some will criticize the treadmill yet have horses with neglected feet. It would be fair to say that a lot of horse people are not very smart.
Coming soon, Thoroughbred horse training backwards uphill on treadmill, This is known as the "Whakatihi" (Focka-te-he) manouvour, developed by a native NewZealand horseman to help build jumping horses
Sometimes while waiting in the yard and looking at the treadmill she will paw the ground as she is doing at start of this video.
In case anyone is wondering, no horse as ever even come close to having an accident on this treadmill while in operation.
One 2yr old Tb filly ran off backwards while standing stationary on the belt. She tripped at the ramp and went over bacwards giving herself a bang on the pole.

Have you ever been to a horse race, hunt, polo game, beach gallop, endurance race etc.
