Because you want to do 3D work but Blender doesn't work with Leopard if you're using a plastic MacBook thanks to the GMA graphics chipsets and how Leopard utilizes 'em.

You would have to shrink that partition and use the remaining space to install Ubuntu. You would be dual booting, and there is no need to wipe your hard disk clean first.

is it possible to make another partition your HD if it is currently one partition on hd or do i have to wipe clean and partition to install ubuntu?

Because Linux on Mac hardware runs way faster that OS X, and all the programs that you would ever need are free.

i have to use linux to make java projects for university because tiger won't support java 1.6, hell even 2001 winxp supports it!
apple support in java sux, the morons chose sun not to provide jaava for osx cuz they want to make you buy leopard, who accused MS for monopoly practices?
