A special surprise video created by staff from the Center for Urban Education (CUE) and presented to Co-Directors Dr. Estela M. Bensimon and Alicia C. Dowd during the Centers 10th anniversary celebration held Dec. 8, 2009 at the California African American Museum at Exposition Park. Speakers in the video include LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Rossier School of Education Dean Karen Symms Gallagher and Jamillah Moore, President of Los Angeles City College. All speak eloquently about what the Center and its researchers have done over the years to improve equity for underrepresented students in the realm of higher education.

Thank you so much for all of the work that you do. The study of Urban Education is so important, and USC and its great faculty has done so many great things to help make education better.
