This audio clip comes from message 014-Defining Worship from the John study, found in the archive section of salvationbygrace.org.

To the best of my ability this audio has been kept in its original context and has not been edited save for it being a smaller piece from a longer message. At the 5:22 mark there is a transition to another clip which came later in the original message. The creator of this clip is not directly associated with salvationbygrace.org but I hope you'll stop by there!

  • Phil -- I think we may have set a record. This video has garnered 13 comments, all positive, no controversy, no arguments. That's rare. :-)

Once again, I want to publicly thank Phil from Reformed Voices for creating these videos and helping GCA promote the gospel of God's free and sovereign grace.

And thank you all for your comments, encouragement, and support.

    To God be the glory.

    Jim Mc.

  • I had left the church and lost my faith nearly completely over things like that- "programs" that I felt I HAD to be in and were necessary for worship. This sermon speaks volumes, because I knew there was something amiss. Because I knew that church seemed more like a country club and a popularity contest or a religious Myspace. Thanks for something I needed today; as I rebuild my faith and look for a new church home, I will remember this. God bless.

  • This video made me smile. God Bless..

  • And I also find it true that if you believe in the Scripture you don't need all that stuff and everything else will fall into place. "Worship is how you live". I love it, and truer words were never spoken concerning the subject. People have enough programs. My faith is returning in small ways, in simple ways, I know He is with me. Thank you.

  • If your preacher isnt teaching about sin and hell, you need to find another church. Another point which I do continuously with pastors that I totally trust, but because of past circumstances, I read 1 or 2 verses before and after the scripture being read to make sure it's not being taken out of context. Sorry to keep rambling on but I care about what is happening in the church today. America needs a revival, however it needs to be based wholly on God and His true Word. May God bless you, Jim

  • mariyajade The first part of your comment saddens me and I am afraid you are not the only one that has left a church and faith in God. It also saddens me that there are many people in most churches here in America that have become so accustomed to the ear tickling, watered down message. Church members needing light shows and fog machines thinking that is how they are going to bring in the presence of God. Ohh my dear friends get in your bibles. Meditate on His true word. Continued

  • Thank you diligentile for sharing this video. There were so many excellant statments made here. May God bless you my friend. Jim

  • Great teaching. Favored! Yah bless you.

  • God is worth every good worship- the question is, am I of worth for him?

  • This is nice to know that here's another expose' of how not to conduct a sermon. Many church programs, very little preaching.

At least Jim McClarty debunks this.
