I ended up getting the Mass 150 but now use it with a Mesa Roadster head 50/100 watts. Thanks :-)

those 25 dollar attenuators are probably good for practicing, but for gigging, you can't use em...There is a lot of heat that builds up with those little things after a while...the weber unit addresses the heat issue, as does the Rivera, Dr. Z, and Marshall units...Anyone who is as anal as I am about tone wants a "saturated" tube sound coming out of their amp, (not necessarily "overdriven"). An amp sounds best at Vol 5 or 6 depending on the model amp

@slpplexi1969 well actually you can...if you dime your volume your tubes will not last long, then failure...you will damage your grid resistors and transformer. Also gigging with Princeton's for at least 10 years, I finaly went and bought a Marshall JCM800 and the only thing I was upset about was that I was using crummy amps with no balls for too long! That was about 10 years ago I just bought a Bugera 1960 "Plexi" clone replaced the OT with a MC OT matches my Marshall perfectly!

@satjathamma Um, no. The weber minimass maintains the negative feedback loop to your amp. Your tubes will be fine. You don't know what you're talking about. The mini mass is not a resistor based attenuator. It uses a speaker motor. I've been using a mini mass 50 for years without any issue across multiple tube amps.

@satjathamma Why pay $300+ for a pedal that you are going to use to lower the volume with? If you can do it yourself, you can make an attenuator for less than $25. The attenuator does nothing to your tubes. If you have problems with your tubes when you are using an attenuator then it's not the attenuator it's because your amp can't be cranked without problems. An attenuator can't damage your amp.

@slpplexi1969 it still will be a lot cheaper than a attenuator, also a attenuator will blow your tubes because it will put high restraint on the amp
What tubes are you using in this clip?

@thecomputergeeksllc RCA blackplates across the board, the 6V6 is from the 50s, the rest early and mid 60s.
