  • Before he retired Elgin played in 9 games in the 1971-72 season

    Actually he might have gotten the ring, he played few games in the championship season before his retirement which made him at least eligible for a share.

    When it comes to the ring, only he and certain people knows (such as his teammates and the Lakers front office). If only they have a list of all the players who got the ring, maybe the question would have been answered.

    We'll never know for certain.

  • One of my favorite lakers of all time! It's a shame he never won a championship. He sure is hell deserved a ring during his brilliant career.

  • Does anyone happen to remember the All Star game where Baylor had a jump ball against Oscar Robertson. I was called away by my mother just before the jump and never found out who got the tip!  I remember Elgin used to jump center at Seattle U. and seldom lost the tip, but Oscar was equally super and a bit taller (though Elgin's arms were long).
