Vivian and Midge Ramone led an effort to support the elderly residents of Silver Oaks retirement community with a Rally in their honor, called the RYE (Respect Your Elders) Rally. They peaceful rally consisted of a 21 line-up event with 50+ musicians, poets, artists and community leaders coming together to raise support and funds to support the seniors in a five hour event.The September 2 rally came together on the heels of the City of Kent Ohio's Law Director, James Silver threatening police intervention against the seniors if they did not disperse their own rally outside of Kent, Ohio's city council building on August 17, 2011.
