F-Zero GX - Standard Ruby Cup - Part 1

I've never played an F-Zero game before... so I decided to try a recent one...

What you see in the video is my complete newbishness, going into Standard difficulty after only practicing one course to learn the controls...

This is definitely the hardest racing game I've ever played thus far, and dang it is it ever fun!

I imagine my driving will gradually improve as these videos progress, I just hope I'll be able to survive these cups... XD

Track Reviews:

Mute City - Twist Road: Ah the optimal beginner race. Nothing complicated and lets someone who has never played the game before be able to come in first. Problem is, in this game, it gives the player a false sense of confidence, cause what's to come is far less friendly...

Casino Palace - Split Oval: Split is definitely accurate as the Wild Goose goes nose-first into the intersection... ow. This course is still really simple, and the boosters all over the place try to get the player adjusted to steering, but the steering is EXTREMELY sensitive in this game, so don't expect this one race to be enough...

Sand Ocean - Surface Slide: I thought I was gonna die a few times there, dang sudden drop-offs. The very little healing strips in this track makes you have to rely on your driving ability more than boosting, which about sums up why I stood no chance at getting first place. You get your first tight corners in this track, so be prepared.

I'll be honest this is a good game but hard to pick up and very hard to master.I remember the first time I played this and it was just too hard.

@greyice0000: No kidding; it's an exercise in patience, especially with the Story Mode. I've had the game for about 4 years, and I finally unlocked the AX tracks last week. Still working on the AX machines, though.

Of course, if you can find an F-Zero AX arcade cabinet, you can just upload all that data from the machine to you memory card. This is an endeavor in itself, as there aren't too many of those machines in North America.

@greyice0000: You have to complete Story Mode on Hard to get the "Magic Seagull" machine, and complete chapters on Very Hard to get the rest.

To unlock the AX tracks, you have to place first in the Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond Cups on Master difficulty.
