why is it that so many people refer to god as something outside of themselves, I am not a christian however I do believe that god is within us, as we are within god. There is no distance between because we are god.

we are all god, only to the degree in which we realize that. Everyone creates their own personal reality, some people allow others to create a large part of their reality because they are unaware of who they really are.  I cannot "fix" it so you can win the lotto, that is your reality not mine. If your "intentions" are to proove a point then you will miss the mark every time.

When I was younger I thought similar to you: Going within my own mind, creating my own reality, mediating for hours on end. I even went to India and lived in an Ashram to follow my Guru etc. So Ive been there done that.

Jesus is the second person of the Holy Trinity and is God, fully human and fully Divine. True God and True Man.

There is a way that we can be separated from God. When we sin we cut ourselves off from the life of grace and become members of satan's body. We suffer the fall with him. God has said-your iniquities have separated between you and your God.
