So sickning how these music exec's think they know every damn thing. Look at this woman......she's gorgeous, tall, and TALENTED! Such a rich soulful melodic voice she had. Since Clive Davis thought about record sales he overlooked her vas potential. All these cock suckers behind the Hollywood scene care about is MONEY and how much they can earn from a star. Phyllis was a star and now she's shining bright in heaven. I hope Clive Davis NEVER forget how big he fucked up when he passed her by!

@daTruChosen I see where you're coming from! But what I absolutely LOVE about Phyllis Hyman was that she never bit off more than she could chew, she always stayed where she was vocally and knew her limits and capabilities. What set her apart from all the other singers who try to show off with their vocal acrobatics, excessive runs/riffs was that she still could capture and mesmerize with just that pure, simple voice. I think that was really something special about her.
