  • The vocalist has to be Sam Browne. He had a superb voice and provided the vocal refrain to to around 2000 records. A very underrated singer.

  • @julianbonser : Thank you for idetifying the vocalist, it's really a nice voice.

  • @HMV163 I came across your posting by chance and immediatley looked to see if the vocalist had been mentioned. In my opinion, Sam Browne ranks as one of the best British vocalist of his era, but so often uncredited on the record label. In those days people went to dance and listen to the music, the vocalist almost incidental in some cases. Now it's the opposite way round. Thanks for posting - I'd only heard Elsie Carlisle's version to-date.

  • @julianbonser : Have you listened to the version sung by Annette Hanshaw, also available here on YT. She's one of my favorite female vocalists of that era.

  • Although my favourite version is by Annette Hanshaw (superb !) I thank you for posting this one.

  • Hanshaw is one of my favorites too. Unfortunately her records are hard to get in Europe....

  • @HMV163 I listed to Annette Hanshaw's version two days ago - very enchanting. It's evident from the extensive AH postings that she was, and is, very popular. I'm fascinated by the male and female crooners from this era. YouTube is the best thing that happened to the Internet.

  • SOne of the first videos i posted have been cut by YouTube (don't know the reason...). I'll try to record the song with the next batch coming online.

  • This Is Awsome!! I`ve Always Loved This Song, The First Time I Heard It , It Was By Paul Whiteman`s Orchestra with Mildred Bailey. I Hate To Ask But Can You Repost The ENDING Is Cut Off Thanks.

  • Thanks a lot for posting this!

  • Hanshaw is the most gorgeous and wonderful singer out there. I love her rendition the most...though this is such a good song that I enjoy hearing most anyone perform it. :)
