A short documentary by Jack Pettibone Riccobono on the Ojibwe Native Americans of Northern Minnesota and the wild rice they consider to be a sacred gift from the Creator. Winner of the 2006 Terra Madre Slow Food Short Film Competition.
The book paid quite a tribute to Native Americans from both the Northern & Southern hemispheres. As for engineering, Machu Picchu and others monuments that have withstood the exigencies of time affirm that science/engineering/ ingenuity existed among NA's from time immemorial. While I have no expertise on the subject, I am certain that the writer had some basis for his ideas and conclusions in that book.
@1400deadwood "1491" was just a book with no direction or purpose, other than to make Anglo's wonder & question everything native as is happening again and again and again and again.BTW,your question is totally not answerable,i didn't know native ppl had engineers kayas.
If you want to introduce two people together because they might make a good marriage, perhaps that is acceptable to them. If you want to disassemble and then reassemble them into something you want, they might not like that. I would imagine rice would feel the same.
With your permission, I'd like to play Devil's advocate: it has been said that corn is NOT a natural crop but was created by Native American scientific engineers about 1500 BCE. This claim was made in Charles Mann's book "1491". If this premise is correct, would you be willing to accept that scientific modifications are acceptible for rice?
thank you for the video i am a wild rice grower myself and would not like to see this happen i am a cree from canada where i grow my rice it there for us i believe it is a gift too for it takes care of us as people to feed our familys
thank you
