SUFI-YOGI
Siamak Nasr, the group Sufi-Yogi and the troupe Khorshid Khanoom
(Iran, Quebec)
A unique opportunity for Montrealers to delve into the East's sacred traditions, to experience moments of ecstatic trance-and-dance!
A fine connoisseur of Indian and Persian music, improviser, composer and artistic director of Fous de Dieu (2008), Siamak Nasr, virtuoso sitar player, offers a new masterpiece of cosmic music where Indian surges merge with ancient Persian melodies, calling for a most mystical and euphoric experience .
Through the voices of ten Reciters, accompanied by a dance troupe and traditional instruments like the zither, the oud and the riq (drums), the ensemble transmits to the audience the elixir of its enthrallment through trance states called Hal.
