Going Bald for Bucks

Kids, teens and adults alike Go Bald for Bucks and share personal stories of why they sacrifice their hair to support Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The 2009 campaign kicked off on March 4, when Roswell employees took their turn in the barber's chair.The Goin' Bald for Bucks event at Lake Shore High School - where the fundraiser was started - was attended by Kiss 98.5 DJ Miguel and WGRZ's Kevin O'Neill and Mary Fiona. Around 1,500 students from schools and colleges around WNY will take part in 2009, with events scheduled into the summer months.

The Goin' Bald for Bucks annual fundraiser raises money for cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park in Buffalo, NY. Participants collect pledges to have their hair shaved or cut. The hair-shaving event has its roots at Lake Shore High School, where history teacher Anthony George started the idea as a tribute to his sister, Cathleen, who lost her battle with cancer in 2004. fuckk all you ignorent selfish assholes saying "omg! what a waste" IT'S NOT! ever giving something to someone else? You obviously havn't it feels good! We take hair as grantage we can cut it and it grows back but people with cancer cant have that gift of hair that we do! My 3rd cousin died of cancer in febuary 2011 and you people obviously hve no idea what it's like to lose someone SO FUCK YOU!
