Bocairent is a small town nestled in the Valencian mountains and home to Herbero (a local brew flavoured with herbs). Like many other Spanish town and villages it has an annual Christian and Moors fiesta. Bocairents version spans several days and believe me when I tell you that you would not want to sit through a video of even the highlights because it gets a bit tedious.
However, for lovers of the downright insane, I give you the spectacle of the locals discharging antique muskets and blunderbusses on the street. I was there, quite by accident, when this was happening and the noise is deafening thank heavens they are not using any ammo! Some of the muskets are old enough to pre-date the flintlock mechanism and have a matchlock mechanism. Needless to say the local council cant be all that big on health and safety! Enjoy!
