@Holyslayer2 I don't doubt your sincerity. I worry about the support people give to those lacking in the basic knowledge of our countrys' history and geography. All things political are decided by looks and popularity. It begins when we select a captain for our T-Ball team. The older I get the more I realize what a monster we've greated with little to no oversite of the foxes behaviors in the hen house!
@billeybop 4. What many saw as an average candidate in John McCain. Though if were being intellectually honest he was much more qualified than Barack Obama. 5. A great fundraising effort on behalf of Obama's campaign team taking advantage of social networking. 6. A supine media who made it it's life work to promote Barack Obama and destroy the record and character of Sarah Palin.
@billeybop There were six factors that led to Barack Obama's victory:
1. Economic crisis right before the election: If you remember correctly before Lehman Brothers collapsed John McCain was ahead by three percentage points.
2. An unpopular President leaving office.
3. A young, eloquent, black president who represented the first serious chance to be the first black president.
@Holyslayer2 You can't see the forest for those green thingies stickin' up! Everything on this planet runs in cycles and patterns. Some simple and some complex but in the end all will even out! :) Aw the beauty of you tube.
@billeybop Nice call man. The 2010 election sure went in your favor didn't it. This is great, one of the dumbest comments ever!!! Which is then proven wrong by the beatdown handed on the democrats a year later. It was a trend!!!!
We re-elected Bush again. This time, he's black, but he still keeps the Patriot Act law, he kept on doing the bailouts, he kept up both the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, he continued warrantless wiretapping, he continued to keep Guantanamo running, and nobody was prosecuted in our financial sector despite GROSS MALFEASANCE.
Wow - what FUCKING CHANGE that was, hey chumps and idiots?
It was about the man, but the man was Stupid McCain. He has spent most of his wretched political career deliberately undermining the GOP. I tried to work for this idiot this year. No one trused him. McCain's stupidity supressed the Republican turn out. If he had flipped the ticket, he would have won.
The 08 election was about the man and not the party. It is evident that most think the house and senate leadership is nonexistent. People aren't stupid! Two Govenors races and one vey close is no indictment of a party or trend. Nice try.
