BBC: Hardcore jobless face benefit cut

Government figures show 950,000 people claimed Jobseekers' Allowance last month. About 100,000 of them had spent six of the past seven years on benefits.

As the video is getting at, people think as mysticalaeon does, when in fact, that's not supported by even the government's facts. But the government is responsible for perpetuating this myth and taboo around claiming.

I agree with most of that. Indeed when I had to go to Sencia (a back to work centre) the bitch that was our 'group leader' actually admitted she 'loved' her job- probably because she enjoyed having power over others.

its obvious that your average dole hole worker has never had to try & get a job through the job centre, otherwise they wouldnt work there!! adolf hitler would be proud of this shambolic & sinnister unemployment system! which is actually creating a larger underclass under our very nose's,... all part of the plan no doubt! to make the working classes feel happy with their lot!! britain is a corrupt shithole & those who play by the rules get a shit deal!! we all know this yet there's no end to it!

@trippy119 HA HA spot on, dead end job minimum wage sound like heaven right about know. There is to many unemployed people competing for those jobs there's like 100 applicants for the 1 shitty job. Training schemes should be put in place to give people more options for emp[employment.

im got a job as a door to door Canvasser an every appointment I secure id get 50 pound but i did 3 days and cudnt get anythin so was workin 4 nothin basically and now hav 2 wait till they recruit a new team leader be4 i can continue so im thinkin of goin on JSA jus 2 help me support my mum be4 i go back college in which i wud hav 2 get a part time job which is not easy its so depressin this situation right now

I'm sick of hearing this government brag about how they have helped people back to work. Does anybody here know anyone who has been helped back to work by the Job Centre. Does anybody here know anyone on JSA that doesn't think it's patronising, humiliating and hinders far more than it helps.

Then they have the nerve to spend millions routing out the small group who do scrounge whilst ignoring those who have deliberatley ended up on welfare by having kids for that specific purpose.
