All the photos Pete Ashton took at Supersonic 2009 with his Through The Viewfinder camera contraption. It'll be a while til I'm able to select and process the best of my photos from Supersonic so here's a rapid fire slideshow of all of them.

  • Don't remember seeing all those left-handed guitarists.

  • Heh! The contraption has a mirror in it so everything is reversed.

  • aahhh were you the dude with the cardboard box thing covered in stickers on the front of your camera? me and my mate wondered what it was... got some awesome photos!

  • Yes, that were me. Usually I explain it and hand out cards with the website address but it wasn't really possible at Supersonic!

  • fantastic! it took me all of friday night and some of saturday to work out what your camera contraption was. very original and a much more interesting camera to look at than the others during the periods where i could pretty much only see cameras. these photographs look great and you've gained respect in my book after seeing you write that post about too many photographers during thorr's hammer (i think). anyway, like the photographs and i had a great weekend, hope you did too!

  • Yeah, that was me moaning during Thorr. To be fair they're only really blocking those at the front of the crowd who in turn are blocking everyone else's view at that level and it could all be solved by the stage being a few inches higher. And most photogs are good. There were just a few who seriously took the piss. One guy was positioning two remote flashes on the stage ffs! Anyway, thanks for the comment!

  • Cracking photos from a classic weekend. And its also interesting that this year's photos have an oversaturated technicolour feel, as opposed to last year's washed out, quasi monochrome photography.

The only thing missing for me personally, was the occasional, vicarious thrill of watching you writing a tweet in front of a stage then seeing it on the tweet screen minutes later.

  • the weekend just flashed before my eyes, excellent.

  • Haha yeah, I'm only just over 5' tall so the front's where it's at for me if I want to see anything at all. To be honest the obvious great time the members of Thorr's Hammer were having made up for it, so all was good :)

  • brilliant!
