I think Soprano's fit Jazz better compared to Classical.

Man, I don't wanna sound silly, but your play is very Coltranesk.
Chapeau.

Brilliant! I'm gonna rent a soprano sax tomorrow from my local music shop for a month; I'll be practicing my ass off for sure each day hopefully. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!
Youre very good too, i cant wait to find my own sound as you obviously have.

it kind of like Coltrane the way he plays i love it
-
woww,, sounds really great!!!:D

Would this be better intended for an advanced sax player? I'm looking forward to playing one of these bad boys. But the tempo and shrills look a bit to hard for me.
-
what mouthpiece you used for?
-
@Delzeriko i play an alto,too and i reallly want a soprano!!!!
I favourited this 2 months ago, and have been back to listen to it many times.
I won't try to get into an analysis of the technique, or the breathing, the make of sax or even the type of mouthpiece or reed. To me that is all irrelevent (and, to be fair, a little beyond me) ... What I know is I like it.
I like it very much ... the way the player seems so at ease (and it come across his the playing) with his instrument, himself and his surroundings ...

u have any other saxophones.Just asking i play tenor and i tryed soprano but i find that when i play it gets really squeaky and i dislike the sound. how bout u?
Elloit2345 2 years ago
i have a tenor and an alto.... hmmm the squeaky sound.... that has to do with the mouthpiece and reed... the tenor and alto they dont squeak that much i think it has to do with what you are used to the most... but yeah in soprano i have a tendency to squeaky but once again it has to do with the reed and mouthpiece you have to find the right size of reed and mouthipiece try fixing the reed size...

ok skill178 sopranos are used in classical music alot and they are almost always paired with the flutes or clarinets, sometimes they have their oun unique part, usually a solo so they are not only used in jazz and sax groups. marksax you are getting a decent sound. it sound like i did when i started soprano. what will help is opening the back of your throught and taking in a little more mouthpeice. try a new mouthpeice too. i dont know what kind you have but it sounds plastic, try hard rubber.
