I was installing fireplace vents with my head sticking out the window as they dissasembled this crane and wow, one of the most interesting things I've seen on a site so far! For sure the biggest crane i've ever seen (the ground one that is) anyone know what model this crane is?
They would separate the tower sections and remove one at a time. Looking at the video I imagine this one is braced to the outside of the building so simple as.

what about a tower crane on say... the world trade center. do the use a heli to disassembly after the crawler has down its work?

They use a crawler on the crane to drop it down and remove a section at a time until it can be reached by another crane :)
Who's job was this in Vancouver? Newway? Ledcore? PCL?

How do they do it if a crane on the ground can't reach?
