I can understand ... what microsoft had done to people...All the Japanese products are good...You have made right choice of products...You just need a software to convert the files after you have finalized disc...Use any burning software ... to convert it...what i feel is you might have done something nasty with the disc...hope you have not done what i am thinking ... ???
-
It uses a DVD-RW - RW means read write disc...if you have used any other disc ... it will write but you cannot unfinalize... if you are sure you used right disc ... then load the disc...shoot for 10 minutes ... when it is complete ... go to menu options select to finalize disc...and when it is complete ...eject the disc...load in laptop...use a licenced nero burning ROM version to convert that DVD to mpeg format...this should work with any burning software...convertion of DVD to mpeg format...

Hello, Don't know if your still having this problem. But I have used Ulead Video Studio. After I have done all the recording on the DVD-RW mini disc I FInal the disc and pop it in my dvd drive then go to Ulead Video Studio and tell it to import from the DVD. Audio and everything comes with it. That should do it. And just format the disc after everything is moved.

finilaize them and format only format deletes all videos

did you download video cam suite? it should come with the program on a disc. And you have to find out what your panasonic is compatible with DVD+ DVD- I have the panasonic VDR-D50 and theres many dvd disc you can use the ones I use are DVD-RW you can finialize things but you cant unfinalize you can only format with erases all videos on there. And if you have video cam suite does the camera need firewire to connect with computer or USB? and if on video cam sutie try to copy to PC?
Suposedly dvd- is diferent from dvd+, as in editing IN the cam, but it turned out to be unnecessary... Also, BUY DVD RW!! With 2 or 3 of those you're "off the kook" ;) Cheers, hope I helped...

I had 2 DVD RWs but the instructions said that I could finalize and unfinalize them as I wished and also that they needed to be finalized to work. I finalized both and now neither are working and they wont unfinalize either.

Um, thank you. I'm quite frustrated, however, because I haven't received any offers for anyone to help me with my video camera. :[
