You're on the right track. A little sloppy at points, but still very impressive. What I would do if I were you, though, is instead of copying Nels note-for-note, try to play the solo your own way, maybe even improvise it if you'd like. (I actually recorded myself doing this on here.) Nels does it in live versions of this song. If you listen to them you'll hear that while some riffs are still there, he's always changing things around.

I knew I wasn't the only one playing along to this one, or at least trying, but it's nice to see someone putting it out there. I'm not even close, though, and you certainly are. I agree with iconostential. Imitation isn't just flattery, it's how we learn enough to start creating our own stuff. Props to you.

Boo to anyone who says something like "don't try and imitate ......" Nels is phenomenal, but how do you think he got good? He imitated guitar players he looked up to. The cycle of music yo!

As a guitarist who also admires Nels Cline's playing, I know just how tough this song can be to play(I've got about 70% of it down thanks to a tab I found), and you've just about got it down. You've definitely got some of those quick fills down that pass me right by. I don't think any guitar player can play like Nels, but if you really want to get the right tone for the solo, you'll want a p-90 neck pickup and an EQ or fairly transparent compressor.
