the originally going to let you play as flood but it was cut for gameplay reasons

The flood was discovered by covanent way before halo ce. But I agree, the whole thing of people knowing about it screws the plot.

I remember the first flood mission in halo ce when the suspense of discovering them was like a strangle hold. I thought halo was only about the covanent but it was deeper.
