It's a take on the original Daredevil, which was set in the 70's. I think it's ingenius, they were even going to have him wearing the yellow costume.

It's not a fake. It's a sizzle reel. In the film industry, when a concept is being thrown around, a video made of other clips will be made to give a rough idea of the director's vision. Same is done with sound tracks, where the sound director will put in songs that sound like what he's going for called 'temp tracks'. Same concept, really.
