Alright, so my method of making textures in my worldmodel and viewmodel tutorials was horribly flawed. They stretched the texture and if you were using that method for an actual model, it would turn out like crap. If you followed the edited rules, that got you 90% of the way to making a correct model but not quite there.

This tutorial covers the *right* method of making textures for your models. I use the files from my viewmodel tutorial, but the process is exactly the same for worldmodels. Your finished project will not have any stretching. It will include a better looking texture, bump maps, and phong shading.

In here, I assume you followed my bad advice in the other tutorial. Therefore, I go through selecting the UV maps, replacing the model in milkshape, and compiling it again. In the future when you do it correctly the first time, you can skip all that stuff and only do the photoshop/vmt things.

Do the viewmodel tut first

  • whats the name of that program you use to make the stick? I would love to know

  • I made the stick using a program called 3ds Max 9. The Viewmodel tutorials of mine cover how to make it and the link in the description list all the programs.

    Have fun!
