I cannot answer as I have never handled a U2. I have a WM1-3G which IS full convex. I believe the U2's bevel is a way to mass produce a convex ground blade that still has razor sharpness outta the box. Hand convexing is a very slow process. i wish I could speak with more authority on the subject. I DO know that convex is the way knives were sharpened for thousands of years. V-Gring edges are only as old as the industrial revolution. Convex is easier to maintain once you get the hang of it.
My understanding is the U2 arrives convex ground with a econdary bevel. It should be very easy to take it to full convex. ken Warner Knives makes a full convex folder. Google him.
Actually the 3G by Fallkniven is the best of the best unarrived material on the industrial blades... I resharp mine (really less) whit a DC4 ceramic side or japanese whetstone 6000 grain like a razor. Really is my best poket knife EDC (after the multitools). The price of this knife "Fallkniven way" is cheap if you know how difficult is make that kind of blade: from powder and laminated. The meccanics caracteristics are AMAZING. For have an idea whatch this: watch?v=VleFUGJNAYE
I think it would be better next time to have a plain background. Great review but it was harder to see with all the other great stuff in the background.
Thanks Bob, you've helped me in deciding to go for this knife instead of a Spyderco. My decision was made after having seen that you could oopen it with one hand. Nice review, btw it was frightening to see you playing with that razor sharp edge, but you seemed well trained in one hand fidgeting with knives. XD
is this a knife you can use verry long and hard ??? that knife is really light i am not so sure

Is the secondary bevel flat, or also convex?
If it's flat, then there should be no issue with the sharpening as long as he hits the bevel mostly.

Are you sure the U2 is convex? I don't think I've ever seen a convex ground folder.

The U2 is convex ground. A ceramic croc-stick can destoy the edge. You should stop a convex edge. Do you strop?
