I scrap part-time along with my 4 jobs I hold down. I am also a stay at home dad during the day while my wife works. She works at a place that sells corporate gifts and busness has never been better for them. I have adapted to working service jobs because our manufacturing is all leaving. Either going to Mexico or states that bribe the companies away with their taxpayers money. Hope & Change? That will only come if we vote Ron Paul !

it's happening everywhere even in the u.k people are losing their home,jobs and self respect. I live on an island in scotland and work in local goverment in the enviromental department, people look at me as if they hate me because i am working when jobs on the island are hard to get and hard to come by. Some have left the island to find work on the mainland..my nearest neighbour now is 32 miles away and the local shop is running at a loss and we are in for another bad winter.

It sound funny but you CAN make a lot of money scrapping/recycling. I am happy to see these people doing something productive. Hopefully the underground economy will weaken the government via loss of taxes long enough to make it reduce its scope, restrictions, regulations and taxes.
By the way most of Europe is full of these slums. Welcome to socialism, we are all poor now!
Also: The 8 people to dig a hole is the result of government unions. They are holding the taxpayer hostage.
